MOI arrests 3 suspects, seizes 7 kilos gold, luxury watches and 40,000 dinars cash

Personnel from the Directorate General for Drugs Control have arrested three suspects following intensive investigation which showed the men were allegedly trafficking in and consuming narcotic and psychotropic substances and alcoholic beverages.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the suspects allegedly attempted to conceal the proceeds of their illegal activities by converting part of the money earned from the sale of psychotropic substances and alcoholic beverages into high-value assets. These included precious watches and gold, while some of the proceeds were allegedly kept in cash.
During the operation the DGDC officials seized
- 120 Lyrica capsules
- 150 grams of Lyrica powder
- 60 tablets of psychotropic substances
- Three bottles of alcoholic beverages
- KD 40,000 in cash, allegedly representing proceeds from sales
- Four valuable watches worth KD 50,000, allegedly purchased with drug proceeds
- 7 kilograms of gold worth approximately KD 311,000, allegedly acquired with proceeds from the illegal activity
- A precision weighing scale
The Ministry said the arrests followed intensive monitoring and investigations by the Drug Control Directorate.
Authorities said the seized items and the three suspects have been referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action.
The case highlights continued efforts by Kuwait’s security authorities to track not only the trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances but also the financial proceeds and assets allegedly generated through such activities.
