The Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate announced on Saturday the seizure of a number of drones and various kinds of weapons, including mortar shells and rocket launchers, from its southern province of Maysan.
The directorate said in a statement that the seized items were handed over to the Iraqi authorities. However, the directorate did not say if any arrests have been made, or any suspects have been rounded up.
It is worth noting that the Iraqi judiciary had earlier declared that possessing drones, mortars or any kind of military weapons outside of security approvals and legal controls a crime.
