Flexible work hours slash traffic congestion by 30%

The sources reported that the Council of Ministers had assigned key ministries that included Ministry of Interior, in coordination with Ministry of Finance; Ministry of Public Works; Ministry of Education; Ministry of Communications; Kuwait Municipality; Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport; Civil Service Bureau and; the Fatwa and Legislation Department, to unify efforts and proceed with the necessary measures to address traffic problems and resolve them once and for all.

This was done in order to achieve sustainable road flow in the country, while providing it with a final report within 6 months from the date of assignment on August 1, 2024, which includes a plan to implement solutions and measures taken by the relevant authorities according to a specific timetable for the implementation stages.

Further to this, the sources also indicated that Ministry of Interior, represented by General Traffic Department, is doing its utmost to complete the task before the end of the specified period, indicating that among the related issues under consideration is the extent to which the appointment of new employees according to their residential address contributes to alleviating traffic congestion, and identifying the jobs that can implement remote work according to the nature of their work, in addition to continuing efforts to encourage school students to use buses.
