Kuwait set to increase gasoline prices for expatriates

A government source disclosed plans to raise gasoline prices in line with global market trends, according to Al Qabas newspaper.
The source explained to the newspaper that the price increase would exclude citizens and only apply to expatriates. Additionally, the government would provide financial support to citizens for fuel consumption, shielding them from the impact of any price hike.
The source added, “It is unreasonable for expatriates and visitors to the country, whose numbers are double that of citizens, to benefit from gasoline at such low prices.”
He noted that the increase and its rate are currently under review and will soon be presented to the Economic Affairs Committee for approval.
