Central Bank unveils Kuwait’s new overnight interest rate index

• The KONIA index is based on the volume-weighted average of actual interest rates used in local interbank transactions in Kuwaiti dinar for a one-night period.

The Central Bank of Kuwait has introduced the Kuwait Overnight Interest Rate Index (KONIA), according to Al Jarida newspaper.

The KONIA index will be published daily starting September 1 on the official website of the Central Bank of Kuwait.
