The Times Kuwait joins global media in World News Day 2026 campaign

The Times Kuwait is joining news organisations from around the world in World News Day 2026, reaffirming its commitment to fact-based journalism, trusted news and responsible reporting. The Times Kuwait is among the media organisations featured as supporters of this year’s global World News Day campaign, which will be observed on September 28, 2026, with campaign activities running from September 25 to October 2.

The 2026 campaign carries the message “#ChooseTrustedJournalism”, calling attention to the importance of credible, fact-based journalism at a time when audiences are confronted with an unprecedented volume of information, misinformation and competing narratives.

World News Day is an annual global newsroom campaign dedicated to highlighting the role of journalism in providing reliable information and strengthening public understanding. The initiative is presented by the World Editors Forum, WAN-IFRA, Project Kontinuum and the Canadian Journalism Foundation.

According to the organisers, more than 1,000 publishers in 108 countries and 17 languages participated in World News Day in 2025. For 2026, the campaign has expanded its multilingual resources to more than 20 languages and introduced measures to track its global reach.

For The Times Kuwait, participation in the campaign underlines the newspaper’s continuing focus on credible journalism and its role in keeping Kuwait’s diverse community informed on developments in Kuwait, the region and the wider world. With its print and digital platforms, The Times Kuwait has developed a growing presence among English-language news audiences in Kuwait. Its digital operation provides continuous news updates alongside its print edition, features, interviews, opinion pieces and community coverage.

The campaign also coincides deliberately with the United Nations’ Universal Day for Access to Information, highlighting the connection between access to reliable information and the public’s ability to understand events and make informed decisions.

As The Times Kuwait joins fellow publishers across continents in the 2026 campaign, its participation represents a commitment to the principles at the heart of journalists accuracy, verification, context, accountability and the responsibility to inform.
