US President Donald Trump stated Monday that Iran must immediately transfer its enriched uranium stockpiles to the United States or witness their destruction, amid ongoing negotiations to conclude the military conflict.
“The Enriched Uranium (Nuclear Dust!) will either be immediately turned over to the United States to be brought home and destroyed or, preferably, in conjunction and coordination with the Islamic Republic of Iran, destroyed in place or, at another acceptable location, with the Atomic Energy Commission, or its equivalent, being witness to this process and event,” President Trump announced via his Truth Social platform.
He had previously disclosed on Saturday that he held a series of telephonic consultations with regional leaders to deliberate a comprehensive “memorandum of understanding” for peace with Tehran, noting that the framework is undergoing finalization ahead of an imminent public release.
Concurrently, Washington maintains rigorous strategic pressure on Iran through severe economic sanctions and an active naval blockade, while explicitly reserving the option to resume direct military operations should diplomatic efforts falter.
