Several Indians Among Seven Killed in Dubai Emirates Road Crash

Consulate officials visit injured victims, coordinate support for affected families

The Indian Consulate in Dubai has confirmed that several Indian expatriate workers were among the seven people killed in a tragic road accident on Emirates Road on Monday.

In a statement issued on social media platform X, the Consulate expressed deep sorrow over the incident and said its officials had visited the hospital, met with injured Indian nationals, and were working closely with local authorities to provide all possible assistance and support.

“Deeply saddened by the tragic road accident in Dubai that claimed the lives of several Indian workers. Our officials visited the hospital, met the injured Indians, and are working closely with local authorities to provide all possible assistance and support. Our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with the grieving families during this difficult time,” the mission stated.

According to Dubai Police, the accident occurred when a minibus collided with a truck that had stopped in the middle of Emirates Road following a technical malfunction.

Brigadier General Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said preliminary investigations indicate that the bus driver failed to maintain a safe distance and did not notice the stalled vehicle in time, resulting in a rear-end collision.

The crash claimed seven lives and left nine others injured, including five in serious condition and four with moderate injuries. All injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.

While the Consulate has not disclosed the exact number or identities of the Indian victims, it confirmed that it remains in close coordination with Dubai Police and health authorities to assist the injured and support the families of those affected.

Indians constitute one of the largest expatriate communities in the UAE, with many workers relying on shared transportation for daily travel to and from workplaces. The incident has sparked renewed concerns over road safety and the transportation of workers across the country.
