Iran’s armed forces have announced the conclusion of their military operations against Israel, while warning that any renewed Israeli attacks on Lebanon would trigger a stronger response.
According to the semi-official Fars News Agency, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated that Iran’s military action was carried out in response to what it described as Israeli aggression in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s Dahieh district, alleging that the attacks were supported by the United States.
The statement said Iran’s armed forces had delivered a “painful response” in support of the Lebanese people and cautioned that any further Israeli strikes on Lebanon would be met with more severe retaliation.
The announcement came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump called on both Israel and Iran to “immediately stop shooting” following a series of attacks that threatened efforts to secure a peace agreement and end the conflict.
Israel has not immediately responded to Iran’s latest statement. Earlier, an Israeli military official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that Israel remained prepared for a range of scenarios involving Iran, from several days of operations to “as long as it takes.”
