Kuwait, China review progress on North Kabd plant and workers’ cities projects

Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of Housing Abdul Latif Al-Mashari held talks with Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Yang Xin to review the progress of several major joint projects and agreements between Kuwait and China, reaffirming the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.
The meeting focused on ongoing work related to the North Kabd Wastewater Treatment Plant and workers’ cities projects, with discussions covering implementation phases, project timelines, and the latest developments in execution.
The officials also reviewed mechanisms to accelerate completion rates and enhance cooperation between all concerned parties.
Both sides highlighted the importance of continued Kuwaiti-Chinese collaboration in infrastructure and urban development, stressing that these projects play a key role in supporting Kuwait’s long-term sustainable development objectives and future national vision.
The discussions also addressed ways to overcome technical and administrative challenges facing development projects, with participants emphasizing the need for continuous coordination and follow-up to ensure smooth implementation and timely delivery.
Dr. Al-Mashaan praised the growing partnership between Kuwait and China, noting that joint cooperation has contributed significantly to advancing strategic infrastructure projects and improving public services and quality of life.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to closely monitoring major projects to ensure they meet approved technical specifications and international standards, reports a local Arabic daily.
For his part, Ambassador Yang Xin reiterated China’s commitment to supporting development cooperation with Kuwait and expanding bilateral partnerships across multiple sectors.
He stressed that China looks forward to strengthening long-term cooperation through additional joint projects that reflect the depth of relations between the two friendly nations.
