Promoting Business Ties: Canada Ambassador’s Meeting with Lulu Hypermarket Kuwait Director

In a significant step towards fostering bilateral economic ties, Her Excellency Aliya Mawani, the esteemed Ambassador of Canada to Kuwait, engaged in a productive business meeting with Mr. Mohmed Haris, the Director of Lulu Hypermarket Kuwait. The meeting took place at the Lulu Hypermarket Regional Office in Kuwait on the 6th of December 2023.

The meeting showcased the commitment of both Canada and Kuwait in nurturing economic partnerships and enhancing trade relations. The presence of key officials from Lulu Hypermarket added an air of collaboration and innovation to the discussions, highlighting the dedication of both parties to expand their cooperation further.

Lulu Hypermarket, one of the largest retail chains in the region, currently offers more than 250 Canadian products on its shelves. The diversity of these products ranges across various categories, catering to the discerning tastes of Kuwaiti consumers. This range includes premium food items, beverages, consumer goods, and more, exemplifying the remarkable quality and variety that Canadian products are known for.

Ambassador Aliya Mawani expressed her enthusiasm for the ongoing cooperation between Canada and Kuwait, emphasizing the importance of creating mutually beneficial business opportunities. She underscored the potential for the expansion of Canadian product offerings in Lulu Hypermarket outlets across Kuwait, which aligns with the growing demand for high-quality international products in the Kuwaiti market. The meeting also saw the active participation of Jade Makki, Trade Commissioner from the Canadian Embassy, alongside Ambassador Mawani. Their joint contribution further solidifies collaborative efforts between Canada and Kuwait

Director Mohmed Haris echoed Ambassador Mawani’s sentiments, highlighting the success of the existing collaboration and outlining a strategic vision for the future. He affirmed Lulu Hypermarket’s commitment to increasing the diversity of Canadian products available in their stores. The Director also expressed optimism about exploring new avenues for collaboration, encompassing various product categories, and enhancing the shopping experience for the Kuwaiti consumers.

In a notable development, Lulu Hypermarket announced plans to host a significant Canadian festival in upcoming year 2024. This decision, discussed during the meeting, aims to celebrate the rich diversity of Canadian products, providing Kuwaiti consumers with an immersive experience and highlighting the best of what Canada has to offer. Additionally, Lulu Group International revealed plans to open a sourcing and export hub in the upcoming months in Canada, further enhancing the dynamic and forward-looking nature of the Canada-Kuwait business relationship.
