Police Shut Down Unlicensed Food Storage Facility in Al-Salhiya

As part of ongoing security efforts to maintain public safety, patrol officers from the Al-Salhiya Police Station uncovered an unlicensed warehouse being used to prepare and store food products inside the parking area of a commercial building in Al-Salhiya.
According to the Ministry of Interior, officers on a routine security patrol observed two Bangladeshi nationals leaving the warehouse carrying food items. Upon questioning, the men stated that the facility belonged to a fast-food restaurant and that they were employed there to prepare and store food products.

A subsequent inspection revealed multiple violations, including the illegal use of the site as a food storage facility without the required permits or licenses. Authorities also discovered food products lacking production and expiry date labels, along with serious health and safety deficiencies, rendering the premises unsuitable for food preparation or storage.
To safeguard public health, officers immediately coordinated with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN). A representative from the authority inspected the site and documented numerous health and regulatory violations.
An official report was filed, and legal action was initiated against the tenant — a Kuwaiti citizen who owns the restaurant and sponsors the two workers involved.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to continuing security inspections, enforcing the law, and coordinating with relevant government agencies to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and protect the public.
