On the occasion of Kuwait’s National day and the anniversary of Kuwait’s liberation, I would like to extend on behalf of the Government and people of Australia my sincere congratulations and best wishes to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Meshaal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the government, and the people of Kuwait.
Australia and Kuwait enjoy a friendly and cooperative relationship. Our ties are warm and strong, characterised by a 60-year food security partnership, future-focused investment cooperation and a thriving education relationship. We share a commitment to democratic values and the international rules based order. And there are genuine connections between our people, built through education, business and the arts.
During my first six months in Kuwait, my family and I have been warmly welcomed into Kuwait’s vibrant community. We are enjoying discovering the many traditions particular to Kuwait, as well as getting to know Kuwaitis from many different backgrounds.
I’d like to wish all people in Kuwait a safe and joyous celebration in 2023, and my very best for the year ahead.
