On the occasion of Kuwait’s 62nd anniversary of National Day and the 32nd anniversary of the liberation of Kuwait, I am delighted to offer my best wishes and congratulations to His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, to His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah and to all those celebrating these special dates in Kuwait and beyond. The United Kingdom has a very strong, historic relationship with Kuwait. But we enjoy much more than just history: looking to the future, the UK is keen to increase further our trade and investment; to boost our close and trusting defence and security relationship; to develop our people-to-people links through more student places and travel; and to elevate our diplomatic relations with the inaugural Strategic Dialogue this year.
The UK values dearly its important relationship with Kuwait and looks forward to another year of close cooperation to our mutual benefit.
