New digital initiative to showcase Gulf culture and identity through ’51’ Platform

The Joint Program Production Institution of the Gulf Cooperation Council, in collaboration with Kuwait’s Ministry of Information and Ooredoo Kuwait launched a new initiative to broadcast the institution’s programs via the “51” digital platform. This move is part of a broader plan to expand Gulf cultural and media works first within the Gulf region, then globally, in line with the rapid digital transformation.
During the launch ceremony, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Fahad, Director General of the Institution, emphasized the importance of using “soft power” to strengthen Gulf identity, values, and cultural heritage through modern media aimed at younger generations, according to Al-Rai daily.
He praised the contributions of young Gulf media professionals and highlighted the institution’s longstanding impact on Gulf media for nearly five decades.
Saad Al-Azmi from the Ministry of Information reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting sustainable, citizen-centered media and praised the partnership as a vital step toward advancing Kuwaiti digital media through the “51” platform.
Ooredoo Kuwait CEO Abdulaziz Al-Babtain stressed the role of strategic public-private partnerships in promoting educational and cultural Arabic-language content for families and children, while also supporting Kuwait Vision 2035.
The collaboration aims to counter the cultural influence of foreign platforms by offering high-quality Arabic media content that balances education, entertainment, and cultural preservation.
