MOI Foils Drug Distribution Network, Arrests Bangladeshi National

As part of ongoing security efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse, detectives from the General Department for Narcotics Control, through the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Narcotics Investigation Unit, have arrested a Bangladeshi national accused of possessing and trafficking narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the arrest followed the receipt of information and intensive investigations that led authorities to several locations allegedly used by the suspect to conceal drugs and psychotropic substances.

After obtaining the necessary legal authorization, officers searched the suspect’s residence and seized a variety of narcotic substances and related materials, including:

  • 182 small packets of heroin weighing approximately 66 grams.
  • 265 psychotropic pills prepared for distribution and divided into small packets.
  • 68 packets of hashish weighing approximately 144 grams.
  • Quantities of the narcotic substance “K2” weighing around 160 grams.
  • 1,750 psychotropic pills.
  • Tools and equipment used for storing and preparing narcotics.

During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted possessing the seized substances with the intent to traffic and consume them. Legal action has been taken and the accused has been referred to the competent authorities.

The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying security campaigns against drug dealers and traffickers, stressing that security personnel remain vigilant against anyone attempting to endanger public safety or target young people with narcotics. The ministry added that strict legal measures will be taken against violators and all suspects will be referred to the relevant judicial authorities.
