Land force commanders from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries have concluded their 24th meeting in Bahrain, focusing on strengthening joint military cooperation, improving combat readiness and advancing defence integration among the Gulf states.
The meeting brought together commanders of the land forces of the GCC armed forces, along with Assistant Secretary-General for Military Affairs at the GCC Secretariat Major General Salman Al-Fadhala and Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command Major General Abdulaziz Al-Balawi, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported.
Kuwait’s delegation was headed by Land Forces Commander Brigadier General Hamad Ahmed Al-Suwaidi. The meeting reviewed a number of issues concerning joint Gulf military cooperation in the field of land forces and ways to further develop and strengthen their systems and capabilities.
Discussions focused on enhancing operational capabilities and combat readiness while supporting greater coordination and defence integration among the GCC armed forces. The commanders also addressed the importance of developing land-force systems to strengthen their ability to respond to a range of security and defence challenges facing the region.
The meeting forms part of ongoing GCC military coordination aimed at deepening cooperation among the member states and strengthening interoperability between their armed forces. The participating commanders stressed the importance of continued joint efforts to develop military capabilities and reinforce the collective defence framework of the GCC countries.
