MOI urges parents to monitor children’s behavior, social circles

The Ministry of Interior has urged parents and families to remain vigilant about their children’s behavior, friendships and social surroundings, warning against the dangers of e-cigarettes and drugs.

The ministry called on families to pay close attention to frequent absences, sudden behavioral changes and shifts in children’s social relationships, stressing the importance of understanding who their children associate with and remaining aware of their daily activities.

The advice was included in a series of awareness brochures distributed by the ministry, outlining preventive measures to protect children from potential risks, including exploitation, neglect and abuse.

The ministry stressed that identifying early warning signs and responding appropriately can play an important role in safeguarding children and addressing problems before they escalate.

It also highlighted the importance of maintaining open and trusting communication within families, urging parents to listen to their children calmly and without blame.

Such an approach, it noted, helps children feel comfortable discussing their concerns and enables families to identify problems and deal with them effectively.

The ministry’s awareness message underlined the role of parental supervision, guidance and early intervention in protecting children from harmful influences and risky behavior.
