Minister Al-Huwailah calls for action on protection of domestic violence

Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, emphasized the importance of addressing all challenges in implementing domestic violence protection programs, according to Al Rai newspaper.
During the meeting of the National Committee for Protection against Domestic Violence, with representatives from the Supreme Council for Family, Internal Affairs, Health Affairs, and Civil Society Institutions in attendance, Al-Huwailah emphasized the importance of developing policies and strategies that enhance family stability in society and combat violence, particularly against women and children. She highlighted the need to strengthen and coordinate the efforts of government agencies and civil society institutions in confronting domestic violence.
Al-Huwailah also endorsed a set of programs aimed at rehabilitating workers in the protection centers of the Supreme Family Council, with the goal of enhancing their capabilities to handle cases of domestic violence according to established psychological and social standards. Additionally, she launched educational awareness programs aimed at raising public awareness of the risks and effects of domestic violence.
