63 Victims Treated as Kuwait’s Health Sector Mounts Full Emergency Response

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that Kuwait’s healthcare system was placed on maximum alert immediately following the Iranian attack on the State of Kuwait, with emergency teams responding rapidly to treat dozens of casualties and support rescue operations.
Official Ministry spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said the health sector activated comprehensive emergency and disaster response plans from the first hours of the incident, while readiness levels were raised across all hospitals and healthcare facilities nationwide.
Dr. Al-Sanad revealed that the Ministry received 63 injured cases and carried out seven major emergency surgeries to treat critically wounded patients affected by the attack.
He noted that medical, nursing and technical personnel were mobilized immediately, with healthcare institutions operating under heightened emergency protocols to ensure a swift and coordinated response.
Emergency medical teams, supported by 25 ambulances, were dispatched to Kuwait International Airport, where the attack occurred, to conduct field triage operations, provide urgent medical care and transport casualties to designated hospitals.
According to the Ministry, the injured included civilians, airport employees and travelers who were present at the site during the attack.
The reported injuries ranged from moderate to critical and included multiple fractures, severe head trauma, brain hemorrhages, limb amputations and blast-related wounds.
Health officials also treated a number of cases involving smoke inhalation resulting from the explosions and subsequent fires at the scene.
Dr. Al-Sanad emphasized that the Ministry’s emergency preparedness plans enabled medical teams to respond effectively and provide immediate treatment to those affected, helping to manage the situation despite the scale of the incident.
The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest levels of readiness and ensuring that all necessary medical services remain available as authorities continue to monitor developments and support those impacted by the attack.
