Kuwait’s ‘Guardians of the Homeland’ showcase unmatched readiness and sacrifice in time of war

In a powerful display of national unity and resilience, Kuwait’s armed forces, police, National Guard and Kuwait Fire Force emerged as the “Guardians of the Homeland” during the regional war crisis, presenting an exceptional model of coordination, vigilance and operational readiness that safeguarded the country’s security and stability.

From the skies to the land and sea, and across vital facilities and emergency centers, military and security personnel worked within a unified national system that transformed Kuwait’s institutions into an integrated shield against threats posed by the regional escalation.

Their combined efforts reinforced the strength of the internal front and demonstrated the country’s ability to confront crises with efficiency and determination, reports Al-Rai daily.

At the forefront stood the Kuwaiti Army, whose air defense systems successfully intercepted missiles and drones over several weeks through highly coordinated monitoring and interception operations.

Engineering and explosives disposal teams later moved swiftly to remove dangerous remnants and shrapnel from impacted areas, while the army maintained continuous communication with the public to reassure citizens and residents of the country’s full preparedness for all possible scenarios.

Simultaneously, the Ministry of Interior played a pivotal role in preserving internal stability through heightened security measures and constant monitoring of developments.

The ministry increased deployments around vital sites, enforced precautionary regulations banning aerial photography and drone operations, and warned against circulating footage of missile interceptions to prevent panic and safeguard national security.

Authorities also intensified efforts against internal threats, dismantling terrorist plots and referring suspects to the relevant legal authorities.

The National Guard reinforced the nation’s defensive network by activating emergency response plans and deploying specialized task forces across strategic northern and southern sectors. National Guard units secured dozens of vital facilities and successfully intercepted drones targeting protected sites.

Its specialized explosive and ammunition units carried out several high-risk operations, including the safe extraction of a warhead from a fuel tank in an operation described as extremely dangerous yet fully successful.

The role of the National Guard’s Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Chemical Defense and Radiation Monitoring Center also proved crucial during the crisis.

The center continuously monitored Kuwait’s airspace and territorial waters, repeatedly assuring the public that radiation levels remained normal and that the situation was under strict surveillance.

Meanwhile, the Kuwait Fire Force demonstrated remarkable field heroism as crews responded rapidly to fires and emergencies caused by the attacks.

Firefighters successfully controlled blazes at fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport, the Public Institution for Social Security building and other strategic facilities, while continuing emergency rescue operations with exceptional professionalism and preparedness.

The crisis also highlighted the strength of Kuwait’s integrated security doctrine, where each institution performed a complementary role: the army defended sovereignty and airspace, the Ministry of Interior secured internal stability, the National Guard protected vital infrastructure, and the fire force safeguarded lives and property.

Together, they formed a comprehensive national defense system that reassured the public and strengthened confidence in the country’s crisis management capabilities.

Amid these efforts, four Kuwaiti martyrs etched their names into the nation’s history through supreme sacrifice while performing their duties during the crisis.

The General Staff of the Army announced the martyrdom of naval force members Sergeant Walid Majid Suleiman and Sergeant Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Dakhel Nasser, while the Ministry of Interior mourned Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Emad Al-Sharrah and Major Fahd Abdulaziz Al-Mujammad from the General Administration of Land Border Security.

Their sacrifices became a symbol of loyalty, courage and devotion to the homeland, underscoring that defending Kuwait is not merely a duty, but a deeply rooted national belief carried by the country’s military and security personnel who remain prepared to sacrifice everything to preserve Kuwait’s safety, sovereignty and stability.
