‘Kuwaiti embassies ready to evacuate citizens worldwide’

Abdullah Al-Yahya, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, said the country is monitoring regional developments in light of recent events and is prepared at various levels to address them.

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli assassination of political bureau head of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Iran.

The General Staff of the Army denied the allegation that Kuwaiti territory and bases are being used as a launch point to target neighboring countries.

 

Abdullah Al-Yahya, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister told Al-Rai newspaper that all Kuwaiti embassies abroad have plans in place to evacuate our citizens from any location worldwide if an emergency arises.

Al-Yahya said that Kuwait is monitoring regional developments in light of recent events and is prepared at various levels to address them.

He also noted that the Foreign Ministry condemned the Israeli assassination of Hamas’ political bureau head, Ismail Haniyeh, in Iran. Al-Yahya mentioned that he had met Haniyeh on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president and was seated near him before returning to Kuwait after the ceremony, while Haniyeh remained in Tehran.

He pointed out that the number of Kuwaiti citizens in Lebanon is currently small, according to the latest statistics.

On the other hand, the General Staff of the Army denied the allegation that Kuwaiti territory and bases are being used as a launch point to target neighboring countries. They emphasized that Kuwait has not and will not permit the use of its airspace or territory for attacks on any brotherly or friendly countries.
