Kuwait opens first phase of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Road development project
The Ministry of Public Works has inaugurated the first phase of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Road Development Project, formerly known as Al-Abdali Road, marking a step toward improving one of Kuwait’s key northern transport routes. Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works Kifaya Al-Najdi inaugurated the first phase in the presence of Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi.
The ministry said the road is a vital transport link connecting Jahra Governorate with Kuwait’s northern areas. It serves traffic heading to Al-Abdali, farms and border crossings, while also supporting land travel and the movement of goods. Al-Najdi said the development works are aimed at improving the road’s efficiency, easing traffic flow and enhancing safety for motorists.
The project will also facilitate access to the areas served by the road and help meet the demands of urban expansion and growing vehicle movement. She said the opening of the first phase reflects the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works and other concerned authorities, with follow-up from the Jahra Governorate Council.
The project is part of coordinated efforts to advance road and infrastructure projects and improve services for residents and road users.
