Kuwait arrests three Bangladeshis over two Illegal slaughterhouses in Jahra
Authorities uncover serious health violations, seize suspected proceeds and move to remove illegal structures

Kuwait’s Criminal Security Sector, represented by the Jahra Governorate Investigation Department, has arrested three Bangladeshi nationals suspected of operating two unlicensed slaughterhouses in the Bar Rahya area of Jahra Governorate.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the facilities were being used to slaughter livestock on demand without the required permits or health inspections, in violation of regulations governing public health and food safety.
The case came to light after authorities received information that workers were using livestock pens and camps to operate illegal slaughtering facilities, accepting both healthy and sick animals without the necessary licences or inspections.
Following investigations and surveillance, security officers observed a vehicle arriving at the location and unloading livestock in preparation for slaughter. Officers subsequently raided the premises and arrested two suspects at the first facility.
An inspection revealed serious health and safety violations, with insects and rodents found inside the slaughterhouse. Officers also seized a sum of money believed to be proceeds from the illegal operation.
Investigators later identified a second unlicensed slaughterhouse adjacent to the first, where a third suspect was arrested.
The operation was conducted in coordination with Jahra Governorate Municipality, which will take measures to remove the illegal structures and surrounding iron fences.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the necessary legal procedures had been initiated against the three suspects, who were referred to the competent authorities for further action.
