Viksit Bharat Run draws more than 1,600 participants in Kuwait

- If you can run, run. If you cannot run, walk. Get your steps in, enjoy the morning, and most importantly, have fun and enjoy the outdoors — H.E. Mrs Paramita Tripathi, Ambassador of India to Kuwait
The Embassy of India in Kuwait organised the Viksit Bharat Run today at Boulevard Park, Salmiya, bringing together more than 1,600 members of the Indian community and friends of India representing different age groups and backgrounds from all walks of life as part of Seva Pakhwada 2026.

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Mrs Paramita Tripathi flagged off the run. The event combined fitness, community participation and social responsibility, while promoting the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. It also formed part of the wider Fit India Movement through the Fit India Freedom Run 7.0, being held from October 2 to 31.
Encouraging participants to make physical activity part of their everyday lives, Ambassador Tripathi called for at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day and urged people to adopt a more active lifestyle. Carrying the message ‘Run for Fitness, Run for Unity, Run for Viksit Bharat!’, the event linked personal fitness with the broader goal of building a healthy and responsible society.

The program also placed a strong emphasis on cleanliness. After completing the run, participants joined waste collection and cleanliness activities under the “Leave No Trace” principle as part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2026.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Tripathi highlighted the significance of holding the event on October 2, when Seva Pakhwada concludes, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Referring to Gandhi’s emphasis on cleanliness, she urged participants to ensure that the venue was left clean after the event.

“If you can run, run. If you cannot run, walk. Get your steps in, enjoy the morning, and most importantly, have fun and enjoy the outdoors,” she said. The Ambassador called on participants to bring together the values of Seva, Swachhata and Fitness, describing them as part of efforts to encourage a healthy, active and responsible society.
