Kuwait Airport Transit Operations Remain Suspended Until Further Notice

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has clarified that transit operations at Kuwait International Airport remain suspended until further notice, dismissing reports circulating about their resumption.

Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said there had been no coordination with any airline to reopen or resume transit operations at the airport.

He stressed that the existing decisions and instructions regarding transit flights remain in force. The DGCA’s clarification comes amid reports and speculation that Kuwait International Airport had begun allowing transit passengers again. The authority said such reports are inaccurate.

According to the DGCA, the continued suspension is part of precautionary measures aimed at maintaining the highest standards of safety and security for passengers, aircraft and airport operations amid the ongoing security situation and developments in the region.

The authority said it would announce any changes to the current arrangements through official channels. The clarification is particularly significant for passengers planning connecting journeys through Kuwait, as transit arrangements remain subject to the existing restrictions until an official decision is issued.
