Kuwaiti Coast Guard delegation visits U.S. to bolster maritime security ties

A delegation from the Kuwaiti Coast Guard, headed by Brigadier General Mubarak Ali Al-Sabah, Director-General of the General-Directorate of Coast Guard visited the United States to discuss the exchange of expertise and strengthen bilateral cooperation in maritime security.

The Ministry of Interior reported that the delegation held a series of meetings with senior officials from the US Coast Guard on Monday and that the discussions focused on enhancing operational coordination, sharing best practices in coastal surveillance, addressing maritime threats, and improving emergency response capabilities, reports Al-Rai daily.

During the visit, the Kuwaiti delegation was introduced to advanced command and control systems and reviewed specialized training programs approved by the US Coast Guard.

The Ministry emphasized that the visit underscores the depth of the strategic partnership between the two coast guards and highlights the mutual commitment to regional maritime security and the safety of international shipping lanes.

As part of the visit’s outcomes, a US Coast Guard vessel is scheduled to visit Sabah Al-Ahmad Naval Base, reinforcing continued coordination, field visits, and strengthened joint operational cooperation between the two sides.
