Minister of Commerce and Industry Osama Boodai has issued a ministerial decision authorizing the Kuwait International Fair Company to organize the 25th International Gold and Jewelry Exhibition from June 22 to 27, 2026, at the International Fairgrounds in Mishref.
The exhibition will remain open during morning and evening hours to accommodate visitors and enhance public access to one of Kuwait’s leading luxury trade events.
The decision permits, exhibitors to display unstamped gold and jewelry items within the temporary customs warehouse, provided all applicable customs duties are paid and the items are officially stamped in accordance with legal procedures before being sold or handed over to buyers.
The regulations also require exhibitors to attach detailed information cards to every displayed item, including photographs for pieces of high artistic value, while documenting serial numbers and specifications through lists approved by the Ministry’s Precious Metals Department.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry further instructed organizers to submit a comprehensive list of participating exhibitors at least one week before the exhibition opens, while ensuring full compliance with all regulations governing exhibitions and related ministerial decisions.
Although direct sales to the public will be permitted during the exhibition, the decision clearly states that the sold item are officially stamped and all procedures are completed and all required fees are paid, local Arabic daily reports.
In a move aimed at strengthening market oversight and protecting consumers, the decision obliges participating companies to re-export any unsold items within seven days after the exhibition concludes, under the supervision of the relevant authorities.
The ministry stressed that strict legal action will be taken against violators, including closure of offending exhibition booths or the entire exhibition, cancellation of licenses and possible bans on participation in future exhibitions for up to two years. Approvals may also be revoked if false or inaccurate documentation is submitted.
The decision additionally bans cash sales that violate regulatory procedures as part of broader efforts to enhance transparency and tighten control over commercial transactions within trade exhibitions in Kuwait.
