Kuwait sets quarterly reporting for Strategic Supply Centers Project

The Council of Ministers tasked the Ministry of Commerce and Industry with submitting reports on the project, aimed at boosting food security through enhanced storage capacity and supply spaces.

The Strategic Supply Centers Project aims to improve food support effectiveness, increase storage capacity, enhance storage efficiency, design modern centers, and develop new catering services, including home delivery for eligible citizens.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is collaborating with several government entities to launch the project, which aims to improve services at supply centers for those entitled to assistance.

 

The Council of Ministers convened its weekly meeting on Tuesday in the meeting room at Amiri Airport, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, according to Q8-Press.

Following the meeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, Minister of Interior, and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, made the following statement.

At the beginning of its meeting, the Council of Ministers was informed about the members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who left the country on Tuesday morning for the United Kingdom to meet with King Charles III at his special invitation.

The delegation includes the Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Abdullah, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, and senior officials from the Amiri Diwan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Council wished His Highness and the accompanying delegation safe travels and a successful mission.

On the other hand, the Council of Ministers reviewed a visual presentation by Khalifa Al-Ajeel, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of the ministry’s Undersecretary, Ziad Al-Nasraj, on the Strategic Supply Centers Project. This initiative aims to enhance food security in Kuwait by establishing supply centers with greater storage capacity and improved supply spaces.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is collaborating with several government entities to launch the project, which aims to improve services at supply centers for those entitled to assistance. The project also seeks to enhance the effectiveness of food support and increase storage capacity to meet citizens’ needs.

Key goals of the project include improving storage efficiency, designing modern centers, and developing catering services. New services will be added, including food delivery to eligible citizens’ homes.

The project reflects the Council of Ministers’ commitment to citizen welfare, with the operation of the centers entrusted to employees of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The Council of Ministers decided to assign the Ministry of Commerce and Industry the task of submitting a periodic report every three months to the Council of Ministers, outlining the stages of implementation of the project.
