Kuwait security and traffic campaigns record 35,601 violations in one week

Kuwait’s security and traffic campaigns recorded 35,601 traffic violations and dealt with 1,046 accident cases and reports between August 9 and 16. Security operations during the week resulted in the arrest of 59 wanted individuals and the seizure of 15 wanted vehicles, while 83 expatriates were detained for residency violations involving expired permits.
Authorities also arrested 12 people suspected of possessing narcotics and detained 17 individuals found in circumstances described as abnormal. The 29 cases were referred to the General Directorate for Drug Control.
On the traffic front, emergency police officers issued 2,009 citations, impounded 29 vehicles for serious violations and responded to 138 accident reports. Meanwhile, General Traffic Department campaigns recorded 33,592 violations, detained 26 individuals and referred eight juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution for driving without a license.
Traffic officers also impounded 640 vehicles and eight motorcycles for serious traffic violations. They responded to 908 accidents, including 764 cases involving material damage only and 144 accidents resulting in injuries or fatalities. Combined with the 138 reports handled by emergency services, the total reached 1,046 accident cases and reports.
Security and traffic campaigns also led to the arrest of 40 individuals and the seizure of 25 wanted vehicles, which were referred to the relevant authorities for legal action. Overall, the figures reflect continued enforcement efforts targeting traffic violations, serious offenses, wanted persons and residency violations across Kuwait.
