Engineer Fahd Al-Muwaizri, Head of the Violations Removal Department at the Farwaniya Governorate Municipality Branch and member of the Encroachments and Violations Monitoring Team, confirmed that all violations will be addressed immediately, citing the decision granting the team judicial police authority.
Al-Muwaizri stressed in a statement to Al-Rai newspaper that the team will address violations, infringements, and encroachments through “direct removal” without issuing any prior warning.
He said, “The campaigns are ongoing and will not stop. In fact, the pace of work will increase until a decision is issued by Abdul Latif Al-Mishari, the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, to halt them, as the minister’s decision to form the committee did not specify a duration for its work.”
Al-Muwaizri explained that “the real problem facing the team during its campaigns is not with livestock owners (herders), but rather the major issue lies with some makeshift warehouses being converted into storage and scrap sites.”
He noted that the rate of violations in Mina Abdullah, Al-Wafra, and Arifjan is very high, making them among the desert areas most affected by encroachments.
