Kuwait Municipality allocates 67 plots in “Shuwaikh” for tent sales via lottery system

The Kuwait Municipality announced today, Monday, the allocation of 67 plots out of 69, meant for selling tents in the “Shuwaikh” area through lottery, which is in accordance with the Municipal Council’s decision in this regard.

The Head of the Public Markets Committee and the Deputy Director General of the Municipality for Farwaniya and Mubarak, Al-Kabeer governorates affairs, Nawaf Al-Kandari, said in a press statement that the total number of applications submitted reached 132, and there are two coupons operating under the free-download system that no one has applied for.

In addition to this, Al-Kandari shared that the 55 plots of land were allocated to previous tent owners, in addition to 12 plots for new applicants, according to the Municipal Council’s decision.
Furthermore, he stated that the applications were submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions contained in the Public Markets Regulations, and were conducted through a draw that took place in the presence of the directors of the Kuwait Municipality.

To conclude, Al-Kandari pointed out that the draw took place in the Friday Market Hall by drawing names from the box, which is in compliance with the principle of transparency and integrity of the Municipality’s departments.
