Kuwait Fire Department reports 71 incidents in 2 days, increases readiness

The Director of the Public Relations and Media Department and official spokesman for the General Fire Force, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Gharib, stated that the Central Operations Department received 71 reports over the past two days, including fires, traffic collisions, and elevator malfunctions. He clarified that these incidents were routine and not directly linked to the rainy weather conditions.

Brigadier Al-Gharib stated in a press release last Thursday evening that the General Fire Force has heightened its readiness across all land and sea centers, as well as airport fire stations, following the issuance of a weather bulletin warning of unstable conditions.

Importantly, Brigadier Al-Gharib advised citizens and residents to stay safe by keeping updated with official weather reports and avoiding sheltering under large trees, which could fall due to strong winds.

Brigadier Al-Gharib urged the public to postpone land and sea trips until the weather stabilizes, secure umbrellas and Kirby rooms to prevent them from being blown away, and avoid swamps and rainwater, warning against attempting to cross them.

Furthermore, Brigadier Al-Gharib urged the public to call Emergency Number: (112), for urgent situations and emphasized the importance of having backup pumps in homes with basements to handle any unforeseen emergencies.

Reaffirming further, Brigadier Al-Gharib stated that public safety remains the top priority for the General Fire Force, wishing everyone security and well-being during the unstable weather conditions.
