China, Kuwait vow to deepen bilateral relations during Beijing talks

Chinese Vice-President Han Zheng met Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah in Beijing on Monday, with both sides expressing their readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation.
Han said that, under the strategic guidance of the two countries’ leaders, China-Kuwait relations have maintained strong development momentum, with exchanges and cooperation across various fields making continued progress in recent years.

He added, China is ready to work with Kuwait to raise bilateral relations to a higher level. Han also said China remains committed to efforts to promote peace talks and to help restore peace and calm in the Middle East.
Sheikh Jarrah, for his part, expressed Kuwait’s appreciation for the support provided by China. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm commitment to the One-China principle and said Kuwait highly values China’s important role in international and regional affairs.
The Kuwaiti foreign minister said Kuwait is ready to continue working with China to open new horizons in relations between the two countries. The meeting took place in Beijing on August 24, 2026, during Sheikh Jarrah’s visit to China.
