Kuwait experiences dusty winds and a chance of scattered rain
The state of instability will continue until tomorrow, Saturday
The Meteorology Department of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) forecasts active winds today, Friday, with speeds exceeding 60 kilometers per hour, causing horizontal visibility to drop to less than 1,000 meters in some areas, especially open areas, with the possibility of scattered rain showers, sometimes thunderstorms.
The acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the prevailing weather conditions in the country are a result of the extension of a surface depression accompanied by a relatively hot and humid air mass with light to moderate southeasterly winds that become active at times and cause dust storms, with chances of clouds gathering and rain. Al-Ali explained that the unstable weather conditions will continue until Saturday due to the current transitional period, the “Sarayat season,” which witnesses rapid fluctuations in weather conditions. Al-Ali urged motorists on highways to be cautious of reduced visibility, especially on highways, and urged beachgoers to beware of waves that may reach more than six feet high.
He also called on citizens and residents to follow the weather forecast on the Meteorology Department’s official website, app, and social media accounts to stay informed of the latest weather developments
