Kuwait DGCA warns travelers against booking with unauthorized airlines

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday urged travelers not to book or issue tickets with airlines that have not yet been officially authorized to operate in Kuwait, pending the issuance of formal approvals.
DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that only Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways are currently permitted to operate flights, while all other airlines have not yet received official operating approval or authorization to conduct flights from Kuwait International Airport.
Al-Rajhi stressed that the directive is aimed at protecting passengers’ rights and regulating air traffic operations in the country.
He added that any passenger who has booked tickets or arranged travel with airlines that have not obtained operating approval may file a complaint through the “Sahel” government application, where legal action can be taken against violating airlines in accordance with applicable regulations and laws.
Al-Rajhi noted that the Sahel app is the official electronic platform designated to receive and process complaints related to airlines as well as travel and tourism agencies, ensuring the protection of travelers’ rights and facilitating follow-up procedures by the concerned authorities.
