Kuwait Denounces Drone Attacks by Iran and Proxies, Urges Immediate Halt

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Thursday Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the criminal attacks launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies, including factions, militias, and affiliated armed groups, using drones.
These assaults have targeted some Kuwaiti vital facilities on Thursday evening, in a flagrant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and its airspace, as well as international law, international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, the Ministry affirmed in a statement.
The ministry stressed that the continuation of these flagrant attacks launched by Iran and its proxies on Kuwait and the region’s countries undermine international and regional efforts which recently culminated in the announcement of a ceasefire between Iran and the US.
These acts are also a blatant violation of international community’s norms, it noted, stressing the necessity for Iran and its proxies to immediately cease – without conditions or restrictions – all hostile acts launched against Kuwait and the region’s countries, in accordance with the UN Resolution 2817 of 2026.
The ministry reiterated Kuwait’s full and inherent right to defend itself in line with the Article 51 of the UN Charter and commitment to taking all necessary measures to preserve its sovereignty, security and stability, the statement concluded.
