Inspire Kuwait Roll Race Championship Draws 290 Competitors

Two-day motorsports event features 11 categories, with plans for more races in 2027 and a first-of-its-kind quad-bike championship for youth under 18.

The second round of the Inspire Kuwait International Open Roll Race Championship, organized by the Kuwait Motorsport Club, began on Thursday at Kuwait Motor Town in the Arifjan area in the south of the country.

The two-day event features 290 participants competing across 11 categories as part of the Kuwait Youth and Sports Season. Dr. Falah Al-Mahawesh, Chairman of the Inspire Club, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that roll race competitions, which involve acceleration races for cars and motorcycles, have attracted a large number of participants from across the Gulf region.

He said the growing participation reflects increasing interest in motorsports and highlights the need to further develop the championships and expand local and regional participation.

Al-Mahawesh added that the club is preparing additional local rounds in 2027. One round is scheduled for March 25–26, followed by another on April 1–2. These events aim to provide competitors with more opportunities and strengthen the presence of motorsports throughout the season.

He noted that the current championship also features several side activities, including booths, food trucks, family areas and a dedicated children’s play zone. He added that, following a proposal by Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, the club will soon organize the Middle East’s first quad-bike racing championship for children and youth under the age of 18.

The initiative aims to identify promising young talent at an early stage and develop their skills in a structured and safe environment.

Al-Mahawesh expressed his deep appreciation to Minister Al-Jalahma for his support and attention to motorsports. He also acknowledged the presence of Kuwait Olympic Committee Vice President Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, saying such support encourages further development of motorsports, greater participation by Kuwaiti youth in sporting competitions and improved standards of event organization.

He added that the success of the first round reflected the significant efforts of the club’s board of directors, organizing committees, and technical and administrative teams. Working in coordination with Kuwait Motor Town and other relevant entities, they delivered a championship that met the required technical and organizational standards, as well as safety and security requirements.

These efforts, he said, provided an ideal competitive environment for both participants and spectators. The Kuwaiti Inspire Sports Club for Cars and Motorcycles covers various forms of motorsports, including automobile and motorcycle racing.
