Kuwait Airport Fees on Airline Tickets Aim to Boost Transparency
DGCA says new circular standardizes fee disclosure and helps passengers understand charges

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said the inclusion of Kuwait International Airport fees in airline tickets aims to enhance transparency and help passengers better understand the charges they pay when booking flights.
DGCA Circular No. 58 of 2026, issued on October 19, standardizes the disclosure of airport fees and provides passengers with clear information about applicable charges, DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday.
Al-Rajhi said the circular also regulates the relationship between passengers, airlines and travel agencies, while providing passengers with a clear reference when seeking to cancel their tickets.
He clarified that not all the fee codes listed in the circular are new, noting that some were already in use before its issuance.
Al-Rajhi stressed the importance of airlines and travel agencies complying with the circular and adhering to the specified fee codes to avoid confusion and ensure passengers receive clear and accurate information.
