Kabd livestock market suspended amid foot-and-mouth disease

The Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources has ordered the suspension of operations at the Kabd livestock market until further notice, Al Rai reported.

In a letter to the Animal Wealth Association, Asmaa Al-Otaibi, Deputy Director General for the Animal Wealth Sector, stated that the closure follows the detection of foot-and-mouth disease on a farm in Sulaibiya.

She requested the immediate halt of all buying, selling, and transportation of livestock to and from the market to prevent the spread of the disease.
