ICAIK hosts professional forum on investment climate and regulatory updates
Experts discuss Kuwait’s evolving business and compliance landscape; explore emerging opportunities in Kuwait’s regulatory environment

The Kuwait Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAIKC) organized a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) program on June 14 at Crowne Plaza Kuwait, bringing together chartered accountants and finance professionals for an in-depth discussion on Kuwait’s changing regulatory and investment environment.
The event commenced with registration and networking, allowing members and participants to exchange professional insights and strengthen industry connections. The session was moderated by CA Nisha Jalan, who welcomed the speaker and attendees. Formal proceedings began with the national anthems of Kuwait and India, followed by the ICAI motto.

Chapter Chairperson CA Venkata Ramana Badida inaugurated the programme and highlighted the Chapter’s commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
He also encouraged members to participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations organized by the Embassy of India on June 20 at Boulevard Park, noting the significance of the event and its global observance.
CA Ketan Puri introduced the guest speaker, Amr Wageeh, a legal and investment policy expert with extensive experience in regulatory and business advisory matters.
During his presentation, Wageeh provided an overview of Kuwait’s investment climate and outlined key developments influencing the country’s economic and regulatory landscape. He discussed recent updates related to Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) requirements, associated compliance obligations, and regulatory changes affecting the utilization of industrial and commercial properties.
The session offered practical guidance to professionals seeking to navigate Kuwait’s evolving business framework and identify emerging opportunities.
The presentation was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants engaged in discussions on regulatory compliance, investment policies and business implications of recent legislative changes.
In recognition of his contribution, Wageeh was honored by Chairperson CA Venkata Ramana Badida and Vice Chairperson CA Sweta Chipra.
The Chapter also recognized the service of Immediate Past Chairperson CA Rohit Agarwal, commending his leadership and contributions during the previous year.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by CA Shabbir Kutbuddin, who expressed appreciation to the speaker, guests, members and organizing team for the successful conduct of the event.
The Chapter also acknowledged the continued support of its annual sponsors as well as media partner The Times Kuwait for support in promoting the Chapter’s initiatives.
