I want to win the World Cup for CR7, says Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has expressed his appreciation for his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo, wishing to win the 2026 World Cup for him.
Bruno Fernandes has been teammates with Ronaldo in the Portuguese national team since 2017, when he first joined the “Brazil of Europe”, before they played together for a season and a half at Manchester United, after “the Don” joined in the summer of 2021.
Fernandez told Wayne Rooney on the BBC: “Winning the last World Cup with Cristiano would be something amazing.”
He added: “I really hope we can achieve that, not just for Portugal, but also for everything Cristiano has given to football in Portugal and the world, and I think it would be a great way to end the season.”
Portugal will compete in the 2026 World Cup in Group 11, alongside the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uzbekistan and Colombia.
It is worth noting that this will be Portugal’s ninth participation in the World Cup, and the sixth with Ronaldo in attendance. The most prominent achievement in its history was obtaining third place in the 1966 World Cup in England.
