HH the Amir honors outstanding PAAET graduates, reaffirms support for youth and education in grand ceremony

The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) held a ceremony Monday morning to honor outstanding graduates from the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) for the 2023–2024 academic year.

The ceremony was held at the PAAET’s new headquarters in Shuwaikh under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, reports the Kuwait News Agency.

Upon arrival, His Highness was warmly received by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, Director General of PAAET Dr. Hassan Al-Fajjam, and several deputy directors-general of the Authority.

The ceremony was also attended by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, President of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Court of Cassation Dr. Adel Bouresli, alongside senior state officials, students, and their families.

Minister Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, in his address, expressed gratitude to His Highness the Amir for his patronage, describing it as a reflection of the leadership’s deep commitment to education and youth empowerment.

“Your Highness’s presence today is a clear affirmation that education, training, and human capital development remain central priorities of the nation’s leadership,” said Al-Jalal.

He praised the Amir’s ongoing support for higher education and efforts to equip Kuwaiti youth with the knowledge and skills needed to build a prosperous future.

Dr. Al-Jalal highlighted PAAET’s role as a key contributor to national development through programs that align with labor market needs and sustainable development goals. He also emphasized the Authority’s efforts to modernize curricula, foster innovation, and create an engaging academic environment.

Dr. Hassan Al-Fajjam, Director General of PAAET, thanked His Highness the Amir for attending the ceremony, calling his presence “a badge of honor and a lasting memory for the graduates and all members of the Authority.”

Al-Fajjam outlined PAAET’s strategic direction, which includes a five-year plan based on four core objectives: preparing skilled national talent, enhancing institutional performance, fostering research and innovation, and promoting sustainable development.

He emphasized that the Authority supplies the labor market with approximately 10,000 qualified graduates annually.

He noted that the Authority currently hosts about 59,000 students and is committed to balancing theoretical knowledge with practical training through updated workshops and labs. He also pointed to advancements in digital governance, institutional excellence, and environmental sustainability as key areas of progress.

Addressing the graduates, Al-Fajjam said: “We are proud of you. Kuwait is looking to you to shape its future. Be the shining example in performance, ethics, and national unity.”

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Sara Ali Ramadan expressed deep gratitude to His Highness the Amir for his unwavering support. “We are honored by your paternal care, which inspires us to continue striving and giving back to our beloved Kuwait,” she said.

She described Kuwait as “a warm embrace, a symbol of pride, and a story of sacrifice,” adding, “We love it because it is not just a nation, but a legacy of struggle and resilience, built with the sweat of our ancestors and the loyalty of its people.”

The ceremony concluded with a strong sense of national pride and purpose, echoing the aspirations of a new generation committed to contributing to Kuwait’s continued growth and prosperity.
