H.H. the Amir offers condolences to H.H. the Amir of State of Qatar on the death of late Father Amir
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, sent a cable of condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, expressing his profound sorrow over the passing of the Father Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
On behalf of himself, the Government and the people of Kuwait, His Highness conveyed his sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Qatari leadership, the ruling family and the people of Qatar.
In his message, His Highness the Amir described the late Father Amir as an exceptional leader and a distinguished statesman whose wisdom, foresight and dedication left a lasting mark on Qatar, the Gulf region and the wider Arab and Islamic worlds.
He said Sheikh Hamad devoted his life to serving his country, supporting the causes of the Arab and Islamic nations, and championing justice and regional solidarity.
His Highness also expressed his personal grief, noting that he had lost a dear brother with whom he shared a relationship built on mutual affection and respect.
He affirmed that Kuwait and its people would always remember with gratitude the steadfast support extended by the late Father Amir and the State of Qatar to Kuwait during the Iraqi occupation, describing those historic positions as a source of enduring pride.
The Amir further praised the remarkable development achieved by Qatar under the leadership of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, noting that his vision transformed the country into one of the region’s most advanced nations through comprehensive progress across various sectors.
His Highness concluded by praying to Almighty God to grant the late Father Amir His infinite mercy and forgiveness, admit him into Paradise, and bestow patience and strength upon His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the ruling family and the people of Qatar during this time of grief.
