GTD warns against placing unauthorized stickers on vehicles, records over 18,000 violations in a week

  • Weekly figures released by the General Directorate of Traffic and the General Directorate of Emergency Police showed that authorities have issued 18,014 traffic violations, attended 1,259 traffic accidents, apprehended 101 wanted individuals and violators, and detained 53 offenders and juveniles during the past week.

The General Traffic Department has renewed its warning against placing unauthorized stickers, writings, or images on vehicle bodies or windows. The reminder follows the increasing use of stickers associated with social occasions such as weddings, graduations, and other celebrations.

Officials emphasized that displaying such unauthorized materials constitutes a violation of Kuwait’s traffic regulations and may result in legal action.

Penalties can include traffic fines, vehicle impoundment, and, in certain cases depending on the nature of the offence, imprisonment as determined by the competent authorities.

The department urged motorists to celebrate special occasions responsibly and in compliance with the law, stressing that respecting traffic regulations helps preserve road safety and maintains the proper public appearance of vehicles, reports Al-Anba daily.

A traffic source added that the prohibition is stipulated in the Executive Regulations of the Traffic Law, which ban the placement of unauthorized stickers, writings, or images on vehicle bodies and windows.
