MEW floats tender for installation of energy-efficient LED lighting

The Central Agency for Public Tenders has announced a new tender has been floated for the supply, installation, and replacement of energy-efficient LED lighting units across existing public lighting networks in all governorates of Kuwait, as part of the second phase of the national lighting modernization project requested by the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy.
The agency stated that companies and interested entities may obtain tender documents from the Central Agency for Public Tenders to participate in the tender in accordance with the approved regulations and conditions.
The project forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to modernize public lighting infrastructure and improve operational efficiency by replacing traditional lighting systems with energy-saving LED technology.
Officials said the initiative aims to reduce electricity consumption, lower operating and maintenance costs, and improve lighting quality across roads and streets in various parts of the country.
The second phase of the project is also expected to extend the operational lifespan of lighting fixtures, enhance traffic safety, and improve the efficiency of public lighting services throughout Kuwait’s governorates.
The project supports the Ministry’s broader energy conservation strategy through the adoption of advanced lighting technologies that contribute to sustainable development goals and greater efficiency in electricity consumption.
