GTD introduces early traffic light warnings at 40 intersections to improve road safety
The Ministry of Interior has introduced a new smart traffic system that gives drivers advance warnings before reaching traffic lights, helping them slow down safely and make better decisions while approaching intersections.
The new system is currently operating at 40 intersections across Kuwait, with plans to gradually expand it to more intersections in all governorates.
A security source said the initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to improve road safety by using modern technology and smart traffic solutions.
The new smart traffic system introduced by the General Traffic Department (GTD) is designed to warn drivers earlier before they reach an intersection, giving them enough time to slow down or adjust their driving instead of making sudden stops.
