Egyptian teacher sentenced to 5-year jail term
The Court of Cassation has sentenced an Egyptian Islamic Education teacher to five years in prison for kidnapping and raping an expatriate child. The Criminal Court had formerly sentenced the accused to 10 years in prison, but the Court of Appeals reduced the sentence to 5 years as reported by Q8press.
The accused violated the innocence of a young child in the prime of his life and betrayed him, belying his role as a teacher. The Public Prosecution charged him with “kidnapping the victim, a young child by deception, intending to rape him by first familiarizing with him, even offering him a sum of money. He was able to lure him to a house far from his own home in the Farwaniya area, for a despicable purpose, where he raped him as detailed in the investigations.”
