Egyptian President visit marks a new chapter in the historically strong relations

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, accompanied by a delegation, arrived in Kuwait today for a state visit where he will engage in official talks with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad. This visit marks a new chapter in the longstanding and historically strong relations between Egypt and Kuwait.

The two countries share a unique and solid partnership, shaped by mutual support during critical moments in history, such as Egypt’s support for Kuwait’s independence in 1961, and Kuwait’s assistance to Egypt during key conflicts like the 1956 Tripartite Aggression and the 1973 October War. Egypt also played a significant role in rejecting the 1990 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and participated in the international coalition to expel the Iraqi forces, according to Arab media sources.

A key milestone in recent relations was the visit of His Highness the Amir to Egypt in April 2024, marking his first official visit as Amir. During the visit, President El-Sisi awarded His Highness the Nile Necklace, the highest Egyptian honor, to recognize the strong bilateral ties.

The ongoing collaboration continues to flourish, with both nations working closely across diverse fields, including political, military, security, and cultural initiatives, showcasing the enduring and fruitful relationship between the two Arab nations.

Kuwait currently ranks third in the Arab world for investments in Egypt, with around $20 billion in economic ties. This partnership extends to various sectors, including economic, trade, and cultural cooperation, with Kuwait contributing to numerous infrastructure projects in Egypt.
