Kuwait takes firm action to ensure accountability in cooperative societies sector

Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, said the ministry is coordinating with the relevant authorities, including the Public Prosecution, to issue travel bans against expatriates involved in financial or administrative violations at cooperative societies.
This step, she said, aims to ensure accountability and legal compliance for all involved in such transgressions.
Al-Huwailah told Al-Anba that she is closely monitoring the performance of cooperative societies to ensure they adhere to applicable regulations and made it clear that any violations, regardless of the violator’s nationality, will be dealt with firmly.
The measures are part of ongoing efforts to promote transparency and integrity within the cooperative societies sector, protect shareholders and consumers, and maintain high standards of service.
The Ministry of Social Affairs has pledged to take stringent legal action against cooperative societies found guilty of violations, whether committed by citizens or residents.
